The Albion Lions Club has been serving our community for over 70 years!
You may know us for our Chicken BBQs or famous ribeye sandwiches or citrus sales during the holidays, but our club involves SO much more! Those fundraisers are just a few of the ways we raise money to support community projects, such as:
Conducting sight screenings in local schools
Awarding Most Improved Student Awards at Central Noble
Donating books for elementary reading projects
Collecting eye glasses and hearing aids for recycling
Building ramps for those needing accessibility
And donating to local organizations such as: Canstruction, the Central Noble Athletic Department, Youth Football League, Central Noble Food Panty, Noble County Miracle Tree, and many others.
We also organized funding for the Albion Splash Pad in 2013 and are now currently working to finish up sponsoring funding for the construction of a Skate Park at Hidden Diamonds as well!
As far as time commitment, you can be as involved as you choose to be with our club. Some members cannot necessarily make it to every meeting, but they enjoy coming out and volunteering on service projects (Adopt-A-Highway "Trash Bash", building ramps, helping at the Augusta Hills LRCC, working a food fundraiser booth, etc.). Some members are more behind-the-scenes doing the planning and helping with administrative functions. We work together with everyone's abilities, availability, and skills to accomplish great things for the community.
Are you interested in being a part of our club? If you'd like to join us, let me know (hsteele@dnr.in.gov). Our meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 6:30pm at Berean Baptist Church.
We invite you to join us in the largest service club organization in the world, with more than 1.4 million members in 46,000 clubs in over 200 countries. Together, "We Serve".
